I meet a lot of people across the spectrum and also within the communities through women's centre and P&R work. When people go to regular music concerts they seem to be able to accept the personal message of the entertainer, even if they are sharing about the Gospel, so we must encourage the organisers of cultural events to step away from inappropriate or politically correct misrepresentation of the population's beliefs and just let the music do the talking.
I hope to keep in touch with your page to see what develops.cynewarmhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04149865187888063895noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6348278268205456603.post-5236470398713415532010-10-23T01:59:52.991-07:002010-10-23T01:59:52.991-07:00Rhiannah - It was a great evening and my wife and ...Rhiannah - It was a great evening and my wife and I really enjoyed it. I got an e-mail yesterday from the organisers and I intend to meet up with them soon for a chat about mainstreaming gospel music. There is certainly an onus on Christians to seek openings but in these days when there is so much talk about 'equality and inclusion' there is also a big onus on the 'cultural establishment' as well.Nelson McCausland MLAhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11458324593112960421noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6348278268205456603.post-57327564027382155732010-10-22T15:02:16.366-07:002010-10-22T15:02:16.366-07:00NelsonGreat points you have made in this review. ...Nelson

Great points you have made in this review. I suppose many Christians are themselves uncertain of their place in the world of secular music as so often church groups talk of it as the Devil's music. Christians need to be able to perform in the bigger arena if the want to spread the gospel through their musical interpretation of the message of salvation.

I sat next to you and your partner on Saturday night and I had a wonderful time. I am part of Donny Richmond's team and although I attended to support him I was greatly blessed by the quality and delivery of the other musicians.

Let's look forward to greater involvement in future music festivals but let's be sure we are actively seeking openings to take part and not just waiting to be asked.

God bless

Rhiannah Warm
Bangorcynewarmhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04149865187888063895noreply@blogger.com
